First Morning Of Kindergarten

Today was my daughter's first day of Kindergarten. She did very well when we dropped her off at the school this morning. She is normally a very sensitive, shy child when it comes to doing something new so I was worried she would be upset or even cry. After meeting her teacher yesterday afternoon she kept giving me mixed signals. One moment she was sure she was ready and not scared. The next moment she was a little scared and wanted me to be there with her at school. I really did not know what to expect for sure from her this morning but I was leaning more towards her being a little scared. She proved me wrong like kids usually do. She was a tough, brave little girl this morning. She did amazing! I was so proud of her! She had fun with all the pictures we were taking. She hugged and kissed us bye without being sad. There were a few kids in her class who had tears. I was glad ours was not one of them. It just breaks your heart to see such sad little faces. We know she will do fantastic! Just to be sure she knew we were thinking of her I put a little note in her lunchbox that said, "Hope you have a great first day at school. We love you." My little rocket scientist already knows how to read all those words too so she won't have to ask anyone what it says. She is so smart! Can you tell I am such a proud mommy? I can't wait to go pick her up and see her little face. I'm looking forward to her talking my ear off and telling me all about her day! Can this day go any slower?
