My son came into the kitchen today and asked for breakfast. When asked what he wanted, he told us, "Cereal. Brown cereal." The brown cereal he was referring to was Life cereal.
My hubby fixed him a bowl and handed it to him. Off he went to find somewhere to eat it. Now before coming in to find breakfast, my son had been in his room watching something online with my daughter.
After getting his bowl of cereal, my hubby knew that my son was going to head right back to his room to be with my daughter again so he told him not to take his cereal to his room.
Yep, you guessed it! My son headed straight to his room despite what daddy had JUST told him. My hubby followed right behind him and told him to come out of his room. He was upset and blurted out, "How did you know?" It was so funny! He apparently thought he was going to get by with eating in his room today. Nope! :-)

We'll See....
I have totally been neglecting my blog for months now! The last time I posted something on here was last August! That was nearly 6 months ago! Wow!
I completely failed at both my New Year's resolutions last year so this year for 2014, I have not set any resolutions. If I don't set any, I can't fail at them!
I do hope however to blog a bit more this year but only time will tell. It's already the end of January and well, I obviously haven't blogged until today so I'm not off to a good start at blogging this year, am I?
This morning my son who is now 5 said something that made me decide to write out a blog post. Anyone with kids or grandkids or even someone who just is around kids can probably relate to those oh so cute moments when kids says such fun and adorable things. We had one of those moments here at our house today, thus the reason for this post.
My son was asking me if he could play the Wii this morning. He just LOVES to play the Wii and would play it all day, every day, if I'd let him. Since I don't want him sitting in front of the TV all the time, I try to limit his Wii time so this morning when he asked, "Can I play Wii?", my answer to him was, "We'll see."
He didn't like my answer and his response back to me was, "We'll see doesn't get anything so we'll say yes." His little brain was thinking this morning. That's for sure!

Totally New Thursday Week 29
Ta da! Tis Thursday and I am actually blogging about my totally new Thursday item on a Thursday for a change! Who'd a thunk it? Huh?
So it may not be the 29th Thursday of the year but hey, at least it is a Thursday for a change. I have been failing badly at one of my 2013 New Year's resolutions, the one where I list a new item in our shop every Thursday and then blog about it here. Remember that one?
My goal is to still eventually catch up with my missing totally new Thursday items but only time will tell if that truly happens.
In the meantime, take a look at my totally new Thursday item I just listed a little while ago. It's an oven mitt! I am loving how it turned out! It took awhile to make so right now I just have the one made but hope to some day get some more complete in various color choices. Thinking I might have to just do custom orders for them for now though.

Cheesy Potato Soup Recipe
Good ol' grandma and her cooking magazines is to thank for this blog post! We spend a lot of time throughout the year at my grandparent's house and sometimes while there, we browse through grandma's cooking magazines to see if there is something in there we want to try to make or better yet, something we see in there that we want grandma to try to make FOR us!
One time while thumbing through one of grandma's magazines I came across a recipe for creamy potato soup. Well, after adjusting the ingredients a bit, I've come up with my own cheesy potato soup recipe. I made a big ol' pot of it today so thought it was a good time to share the recipe with all of you!
Ingredients needed:
4 cups frozen shredded hash browns
6 cups water
1 large chopped onion
2 cans (10.5 oz each) condensed cream of celery soup
8 oz cubed Velveeta cheese
1 cup sour cream
1/2 teaspoon salt
1/4 teaspoon pepper
*In large pot, combine hash browns, water, and onion. Bring to a boil.
*Reduce heat-stir in cream of celery soup and Velveeta cheese. Cook and stir until Velveeta cheese is melted.
*Stir in sour cream, salt, and pepper. Cook and stir until heated through. Do not boil.
After that, you are ready to dish you up a bowl and enjoy! Eat it plain like I do or add your favorite toppings like bacon bits, shredded cheese, or chopped green onions! Hope you all enjoy this soup as much as I do! I'm off to grab a second bowl now! Yummy!
*Small tip: The longer you boil the hash browns, water, and onion together, the less crunchy your onion will be. My onion always seems to have a bit of a crunch to it. Guess I just get too impatient and want my soup done too quickly!
